Trax Apparel Global Limited is a Nigerian-based luxury clothing and accessories brand. We specialize in all types of bespoke men’s traditional attire, hand-painted clothing and accessories, and lifestyle. Our history begins with our founders Segun Oluwaniyi and Mark Odiete. Their vision was to create unique designs, by intelligently leveraging on the knowledge of the African urban culture in the global luxury scene.
Our signature collection, The Walking Canvas (TWC) is a fusion of art and fashion that creates luxury design pieces by leveraging Africa’s vast cultures and creating art with them on wearable clothing items & accessories. Job Title: Finance Analyst
Location: Lekki, Lagos

Position Summary
- As Trax Apparel’s first full-time Finance hire, you will play a key role in optimizing our financial operations in line with our business objectives. You will perform cost analyses, prepare budget reports and evaluate current accounting trends. You will consult with senior management to perform financial analysis, develop financial models, and prepare financial forecasts.
- You will also advise our senior management team on potential expansions, acquisitions, and strategic decisions in alignment with business objectives and legislation. Ultimately, you should recommend, design, and monitor short-term and long-term investment strategies for our company.
Organization Chart and Interfaces:
- This position reports directly to the CEO. The Finance Specialist will work closely with the Operations, Production, and Growth teams.
Performance Objectives
- General Accounting:
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Oversee financial and accounting processes to ensure compliance with Corporate and local policies, statutory requirements, and IFRS.
- Manage administration of accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory control accounting, and payroll.
- Oversee the month-end close process to ensure timely closure and financial reports preparation.
- Budgetary Function:
- Preparation of annual budgets – Profit & Loss, Cash Flow & Balance Sheet.
- Analyze and report variances – Propose and implement remedial action. Estimate the requirement of funds – short-term and long-term.
- Financial Management Reporting and Cost Control Function:
- Implement financial controls and develop financial management mechanisms to minimize financial risk, cost control, and cost reduction using financial ratios.
- Analyze, interpret and report operating results and make specific recommendations to achieve cost-effectiveness and profit improvements.
- Anticipate management needs and develop analyses in response to those needs and in support of management decisions.
- Balance Sheet and Assets Management Function:
- Work with operating personnel to achieve a healthy balance sheet and assets management.
- Oversee development and carrying-out of inventory control procedures, including physical stock-take and audit.
- Account for and maintain proper inventory reserves for Excess, Expired, and Obsolete Inventory.
- Review assets register to keep track of and safeguard company assets.
- Cash Flow Management & Control Function:
- Daily control of elements affecting working capital.
- Oversee operational cash management and cash flow forecasting.
- Control Function:
- Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures and internal controls in support of business processes and decisions.
- Ensure all activities comply with relevant Acts, legal demands, ethical standards, and internal management policies.
- Review the preparation and submission of company statutory documents.
- Tax Knowledge:
- Liaise with Relevant Tax Authorities on day-to-day operations.
- Ensure consistent compliance with local tax filing requirements.
- Preparation of all tax returns (including corporate income tax, VAT, WHT, PAYE).
- Keep up to date with tax issues and changes in Nigeria.
Requirements
- A successful finance specialist for a premium fashion and lifestyle company needs to have at least 3+ years of proven work experience as a Financial Specialist, Financial Analyst, or relevant role
- B.Sc Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, statistics, or in a related field
- ACCA/ACA is required (Student membership will be considered).
- Highly proficient in computing, accounting packages and forecasting models.
- Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking abilities
- An ability to analyze market trends and provide data-based advice
- An ability to present and explain investment information and financial plans
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Deadline-driven – you can move fast to create high-quality content in an evolving environment while maintaining a clear focus on all priorities.
