The African Marine Environment Sustainability Initiative (AFMESI) is a registered, non-profit organization that promotes and implements strategies aimed at protecting and restoring marine ecosystems within the continent. Over the past few years, we have collaborated with civil society organizations, government officials, local communities and the United Nations to achieve great strides for the marine environments within Africa.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Program Assistant (NYSC Participant)
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Temporary

Description
- We are currently seeking to temporarily hire, two (2) National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) participants who will each work as a Program Assistant.
The Roles
Reporting directly to the Executive Secretary, the Program Assistant’s roles are as follows:
- Developing projects for AFMESI.
- Planning and coordinating upcoming events of the organization.
- Preparing and making presentations on behalf of the organization.
- Attending meetings with Management and taking minutes.
- Traveling within Nigeria and/or regionally on behalf of the organization.
- Performing any other duties assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a Science program.
- Strong knowledge and passion for the environment, especially the marine environment.
- Proficient with the use of computer.
- Experience with executing presentations.
- Ability to work remotely.
- Residence within or close to Festac town in Lagos state, Nigeria.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years.
