We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Service Design and Innovation Lead

Location: Abuja (FCT), Nigeria
Employment Type: Full-time

Duties & Responsibilities
Business Innovation (40%):

  • Identify clients, understand their needs and preferences, design new products and/or enhance existing ones according to customer needs, develop costing and pricing, conduct pilot tests, develop a product launch strategy, and provide marketing support.
  • Designing innovative delivery channels for current and new products and services through identifying, developing, and monitoring the product channel mix.
  • Working collaboratively with our technology, underwriting, claims and actuarial functions to develop new strategies and products by providing valuable new insights into customer needs, new technologies or business partners.
  • Managing a research program to keep abreast of new and emerging trends and technologies
  • Defining, building and delivering concepts for new value creation through innovation in channels, products and services.
  • Collaborating with internal and external partners to drive innovation initiatives through full process from idea to commercialization.
  • Managing the Innovation team and budgets to demonstrate return on investment within a reasonable time-frame.
  • Carrying out other assignments delegated by the Chief Operations Officer from time to time.

Project Management, Process Innovation and Business Development (60%):

  • Execute design research to understand customer and client needs.
  • Lead cross-disciplinary, multinational teams in building insights and translating into, services or relevant design products
  • Liaise with project partners and translate vision to outcome
  • Collaborate with the project team, potentially managing subject matter experts and technical contributors
  • Contribute to project planning to ensure that design approaches are well-integrated into broader goals.
  • Lead product design, technology implementation and strategy mapping.
  • Develop agile, efficient, and impactful internal processes;
  • Integrate lessons from industry standards and client engagements across our work
  • Support frequent knowledge transfer between programmatic team members and across the organization.
  • Build and cultivate partnerships around new opportunities.
  • Educate clients and partners on our strategy and approach

Education & Experience

  • First Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Master’s Degree is desirable.
  • Fluency and experience in human-centered design, participatory design, and design strategy for social impact contexts.
  • Experience applying a range of design tools, exercises, and methods.
  • Strong proficiency on platforms like Odoo, including visual design using Adobe Creative Suite tools required.
  • Capability to translate design activities for appropriate contexts, purposes, projects, and audiences.
  • Knowledge in strategic planning.
  • Comfortable with public speaking and workshop facilitation; poised in client communications and project management.
