There is no better time than now to be wary of unknown calls from unidentified callers.
Some persons find it frustrating getting an unknown calls from strange numbers. Or getting a missed call from an unknown caller. They most times do not know whether to call back or not.
Before going into the ways to identify unknown callers, it is imperative to note that these tips only work for unknown callers with their phone number displayed. They are not applicable for calls with hidden Caller IDs.
Here are some ways you may find out the identity of an unknown caller:
Social Media
In trying to make connections and communication easier, most social media platforms permit the use of phone numbers to sign up or include in bio. Thus, you can save the unknown caller contact on your phone and check the identity via WhatsApp (which you may delete afterwards). You can also search the number directly on Facebook or Twitter. Associated accounts should pop up in the search result if available.
By Conducting Google Search
You can try searching the phone number on Google. If you get no luck with that, you may try to include the country code such as +234 for Nigeria and +1 for the United States (US). By doing so, you might be lucky to get a result if the unknown caller’s number belongs to a company (included on the company’s website) for instance. It may also appear in Google search results if another internet user referenced it, maybe in the comment section of a website.
Reverse Phone Lookup
It is not impossible to receive a call from an international number. To try identify this, reverse phone lookup sites may come in handy. Try online platforms like Whitepages.com, Address.com, and anywho.com. Most of these sites share not just the name of the caller but also the home address.
Phone Apps

There are numerous phone apps you can use to identify an unknown caller. TrueCaller app is one of such apps. It is available to download for free in Apps Store (Google Play Store and Apple Store). The TrueCaller app would reveal the identity of the caller .
