Eko Hot Blog reports that veteran Nollywood actor, director and producer Prince Jide Kosoko has marked a momentous milestone as he celebrates his 70th birthday on Friday.
To celebrate this feat, the legendary actor will gather with friends, family, and well-wishers to express gratitude to God for seven decades of remarkable achievements at a thanksgiving service on Sunday, January 14th, 2024.
The event is scheduled to hold at Embrace International Assembly Church, Awolowo Road, (Ota ona- Itamaga Road), opposite Nnpc petrol Station, Alabukun, Erunwen Junction Ikorodu by 10am prompt.
The invitation message for the thanksgiving service obtained by Eko Hot Blog reads: “May i humbly invite you to the Thanksgiving service for my 70th birthday.
“This will come up by the grace of God on Sunday 14th of January 2024 at Embrace International Assembly Church, Awolowo Road, (Ota ona- Itamaga Road).opposite Nnpc petrol Station, Alabukun, Erunwen Junction Ikorodu.
“By 10 am prompt. Reception will follow by 12 noon. At My Residence Peaceland Estate No.14 Micheal Lewis Crescent Off Awolowo Road stone throw to the Church.
“I Will Be Happy If You Honour Me With Your Presence.”
Earlier, the veteran actor took to his Instagram handle to celebrate his 70th birthday.
Thanking God for the milestone, he wrote that he is now 70 times more amazing than when he was born.
Born on January 12th, 1954, Kosoko is a Nigerian actor, director, and producer. He hails from the popular Kosoko royal family in Lagos which explains why he holds the traditional title of Prince.
Having pursued business administration at Yaba College of Technology, he began his acting journey as a child actor in 1964, starring in a television production titled “Makanjuola.”
Since then, he has graced the screens in numerous Nollywood films, showcasing his talent in both English and Yoruba languages.
Not only has Jide Kosoko acted in numerous films, but he has also showcased his versatility by writing and producing his own works, including the stage play “Ogun Ahoyaya.”
He gained prominence during the Video film era, taking on roles in his own production “Asiri n la” in 1992 and featuring in notable films like “Asewo to re Mecca” and Tunde Kelani’s “Ti Oluwa Ni’Le part 2.”
With an illustrious career spanning over 50 years, he has graced the screen in more than 300 movies. Here is a list of recent films he has starred in:
Being one of the most talented veteran actors in the Nollywood industry, Prince Kosoko has bagged several awards and nominations such as: Lifetime Achievement Award at the City People Movie Awards in 2017, Special Recognition Award at the City People Movie Awards in 2018 and Best Actor in a Supporting Role at the Africa Movie Academy Awards.
The veteran entertainer serves as an ambassador for the well-known juice production company, Chivita and Western Lotto, Nigeria.
He is also the Brand Ambassador for the popular Kayokayo Festival, which celebrates the sociocultural beauty of Epe.
