Veteran Nollywood Actor, Lalude to Grace MOCPED Induction

The stage is set for the annual induction ceremony for Theatre Practice students of the Cultural and Creative Arts department, School of Arts and Social Sciences, Michael Otedola College of Primary Education (MOCPED), Noforija-Epe.
As gathered by Eko Hot Blog, this year’s ceremony will feature veteran Nollywood Actor, Fatai Oodua aka Lalude while the Chief Priest of the day will be Dr Chris Omotosho, the Head, Department, of Theater Arts, Federal College of Education, Osiele, Ogun State.
The induction/initiation ceremony is performed in Tertiary institutions, especially in the departments of Theatre/Performing Arts or Creative/Dramatic Arts as a customary ritual to introduce the inductees to the world of Drama and Performance.
According to a statement by the Lecturer-in-Charge, Jamal Caleb Apena, from the Department of Cultural and Creative Arts, the practice began many years ago by progenitors of Theatre Arts and has over the years evolved to become a spectacle that underscores the social and cultural depth of the profession.
“It is the dramatic rite, a potpourri of several creative diets of introducing our fresh Thespians as they publicly take an oath and pledge their loyalties to the department, profession and the institution.

They are led by a Chief Priest, a Theatre Arts Veteran with a track record, who shall pronounce them and certify them eligible to be in the folks to study and practice the profession,” the statement read.
The statement however revealed that the ceremony holds on Tuesday 17th August 2021 by 10:00 am at Lecture Theatre 1 (LT1), in the College premises.
