VIDEO: CP Tunji Disu Assumes Office As Rivers Commissioner Of Police

Eko Hot Blog reports that CP Tunji Disu has assumed office as the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Rivers State Police Command.

He assumed office on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, exactly a week after Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun appointed him to the role.

The IGP said Disu, who was his Principal Staff Officer (PSO) before the latest appointment, was tapped to oversee the Rivers police command to ensure efficiency in the policing system across the state.

Before now, the new Rivers police boss was the DCP, Department of Operations, Force Headquarters, Abuja, and previously served at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for Rivers Command as the Deputy Head of the Unit.

The new Rivers police commissioner holds a B.A English (Education), PGD International Relations and Strategic Studies, MSc. Public Administration, Advanced Diploma in Forensic Investigation & Criminal Intelligence and MSc. Criminology, Security & Legal Psychology.

The top police officer has attended several courses both within and outside Nigeria, and he is a member of several professional bodies including the International Academy of Forensics (IAF), National Association of Investigative Specialist, United States of America (NAIS), Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) amongst others.
