Okemagba Central Mosque’s Chief Imam Calls for End to Acrimony, Division in Epe

During Epe Club’s distribution of Ramadan food palliatives to various mosques in the community, Sheikh Hammed Saliu, Chief Imam of Okemagba Central Mosque, addressed the pressing issue of disunity and bitterness between the Ijebu-Epe and Eko-Epe communities in Epe Local government of Lagos State.

Eko Hot Blog reports that Saliu emphasized the need for resolution and reconciliation to overcome the historical divide, which has significantly hindered the region’s progress and development.

While commending Epe Club for its generosity and philanthropic efforts, the religious leader underscored the importance of unity in achieving significant advancements within the Epe community.

Drawing on historical examples, such as the former connection between Ikorodu and Epe, Sheikh Saliu emphasized that neglecting unity can result in further decline.

He stressed the importance of the Epe people taking responsibility for addressing the issue to ensure the region’s progress.

In addition to his remarks at the Okemagba Central Mosque, Sheikh Saliu joined the Illali Imam, Sheikh Muyideen Balogun, in welcoming the Epe Club team at the Tafsir Mosque.

Both spiritual leaders prayed for the success of the club’s efforts and encouraged the expansion of its palliative programs beyond the month of Ramadan.

On Saturday, March 22, 2025, Epe Club’s representatives, Mr. Sanuth and Mr. Taiwo, oversaw the distribution of Ramadan food palliatives at Itaopo Central Mosque, Tafsir Mosque at Bado-Isale, and Okemagba Central Mosque.

The Epe Club representatives emphasized that this is not the first charitable endeavor for the organization, with more relief efforts planned for the remainder of the year.
