The lawmaker paid the elderly their allowances from January to March 2023 at once, bringing smiles to their faces.

Some of the beneficiaries were captured receiving the cash allowances as they showered praises on their benefactor.

Eko Hot Blog sighted an aged woman who received N60,000 cash as payment for three months.

One of the beneficiaries, Victoria Ogah, from Igboju, said she was happy to receive the benefit.

“I am happy to receive this money and I thank Wale Raji for paying me allowances for three months. May God continue to make him greater,” she prayed.

Another beneficiary, Alhaji Adebanjo, thanked Raji for his benevolence of more than two years to the elderly.

He also prayed for the lawmaker’s continued success.

Raji launched the Elders Welfare Scheme and the Grassroots Trader Support (Cash Grant) Scheme in November 2020.

He selected 1100 grassroots traders across all wards in Epe as the first beneficiaries of cash grants of N25,000.

Also, 100 people, aged 70 years and above, who lacked means of livelihood or financial support, were chosen across all wards in Epe Federal Constituency to receive a constant monthly stipend of N10,000.

In September 2022, the lawmaker presented a total of N64 million cash grant to about 1280 women under the 32 Asiwaju Progressive Women Cooperative Thrift & Credit Societies in the Epe Federal Constituency. The women were picked from all parts of Epe.

In January 2016, months after Raji was elected to the House of Representatives, he flagged off a skill acquisition training programme for youths in Epe.

The scheme, which was in partnership with the Lagos State Technical and Vocational Board (LASTVEB), was to train 100 youths in at least 15 skills beginning from February 1, 2016.
