  • There has been a shocking discovery at an unknown poultry.
  • Eggs were found buried deep in the soil on the poultry premises.
  • The person or people behind the theft are unknown.

Eko Hot Blog reports that that an unknown poultry is reeling from a wild attempt by its workers to steal dozens of eggs.

In a video circulating online, some people could be seen digging the soil with their hands and pulling out several eggs.

A voice in the video demanded answers from the poultry workers but none of them took responsibility for the brazen act.

“Eggs were short yesterday,” the voice said in pidgin English, the video, saying less eggs were reported the previous day.

“Did the eggs carry themselves here?” The voice queried, following denials by farm workers.

“This is how you people have been killing this farm. You people are very wicked,” the person further lamented.

The person threatened to involve the police in the matter to get an explanation for the apparent sabotage of the business.

It is not clear where and when the incident happened, but the voices, accent, and language in the video indicate that it occurred in Nigeria.

The theft of eggs discovered at the unknown farm is not an isolated incident.

Many Nigerian poultry farmers have complained in the past how workers brazingly steal chicken feed and eggs at their farms, running them down financially.

In 2021, a video surfaced of a poultry surpervisor who caught a farm worker concealing more than a dozen eggs in different parts of her bodies as she tried to leave the farm.

In March 2024, one Ahmed Mustapha took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to recount his experience with thieving workers in his poultry.

Mustapha narrated how he hired a supervisor to curb stealing at his farm, but the supervisor introduced a new level of theft into the system.

“I run a poultry farm that I have refused to shut down. Staff members started stealing while I was away so I hired a ‘supervisor’ and paid him three times what I pay the farm attendants just for him to put a process in place that makes it impossible for theft to happen,” he wrote.

“Guess what? This supervisor introduced a new level of theft and record alteration into the system. I had to let him and other staff members go.”
