VIDEO: Tinubu Makes Passionate Appeal For Nigerians In US To Return Home
Eko Hot Blog reports that President Bola Tinubu met with Nigerians living in the United States (US) on Wednesday.
The president, who is in the US for the 78th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), urged the diaspora community to consider returning home to contribute their quota to the country’s development.
According to Tinubu, Nigeria has arrived and the days of past failed leadership are gone.
“We need you back home. Nigeria has arrived. Forget the frustration of past years of leadership,” he said.
The president also spoke on poverty alleviation efforts, saying Nigeria has no reason to be poor.
The meeting was organised by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) and the Nigerian Mission in the US.
Dr. Tunji Alausa, Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, and Abike Dabiri-Erewa, chairman of NiDCOM, were among the dignitaries at the event.
