Men of the Oduduwa Peoples Congress (OPC) have announced the arrest of Fulani herdsman, Iskilu Wakili and some of his aides who were alleged to have been terrorising residents of Ibarapa and Oke-Ogun zones in Oyo State.
EKO HOT BLOG gathered that Wakili was arrested on Sunday morning in the forest he lives in and has been handed over to the police for interrogation and more investigation.
The OPC leader, Chief Adedeji Oluwole, who led the operation, confirmed the arrest to newsmen
Oluwole said he was surprised at how such an “aged man could be perpetrating such criminal activities”.
He further disclosed that when they got to Wakili’s residence in the bush, his aides opened fire at the assailants after which Wakili and 3 of his aides were arrested.
According to the OPC leader, Wakili when interviewed by the men of the OPC denied perpetrating any criminal activities but one of his aides confirmed that they have firearms.
