His trip included a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People, where he was honored with a 21-gun salute and inspected the guards.
During the visit, Nigeria and China signed five Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), including agreements on the Belt and Road Initiative, peaceful nuclear energy cooperation, and media exchange.
In addition to his talks with Chinese Premier Li Qiang, Tinubu attended a Welcoming Banquet hosted by President Xi Jinping and his wife, Peng Liyuan, as part of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Summit.
Significant MOUs were also signed, including one with China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) for the construction of a 68-km Lagos Green rail line and another for a $1 billion iron ore-to-steel project in Kogi State.
Before departing for London, Tinubu visited Chinese companies Huawei and China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC).
At FOCAC, he delivered a speech emphasizing multilateralism and global cooperation for peace. While in London, he met with King Charles III to discuss climate change and related actions.
During his address to Nigerians in China, Tinubu expressed his commitment to reforms aimed at improving infrastructure and public services in Nigeria, drawing inspiration from China’s development model.
