Vocational Skills: Kaduna State Government Inaugurates Women Training Centre In Kafanchan

The Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe has commissioned Women Skills Acquisition Training Centre built by the state government in Kafanchan, Jema’a Local Government area.

Commissioning the centre during a civic reception program Organized by the council chairman Mr. Peter D. Averik, the Deputy Governor said Kaduna state Government was committed to women and youths empowerment for self-reliance through Vocational skills.

According to Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, the state government had earmarked 200m naira in the 2021 budget to give out to women as soft loans for them to establish businesses of their choice.

In her keynote address, Commissioner, for Human Services and Social Development, Hajiya Hafsat Baba explained that the idea behind the establishment of the centre was to create opportunities for women and youth in southern kaduna to learn business skills and increase their economic wellbeing.

Earlier in his welcome address, Chairman, Jema’a local government area, Mr. Peter Danjuma Averik commended kaduna state government for establishing the centre in Kafanchan and said the centre if properly utilised would help reduce the issue of insecurity in southern kaduna.

In their separate Contribution, the Commissioner for Business, Innovations and Technology, Mr. Samaila Idris Nyam and his counterpart in Youths and Sport Development, Professor Kabiru Mato said they were optimistic that the centre would be of good benefits to the people especially women and youths in southern kaduna.

In his remarks, His Royal Highness, the Emir of Jama’a, Mohammadu Isa Mohammadu II, who spoke on behalf of the traditional rulers thanked the state Government for the initiative and promised their support to ensure the objectives of establishing the centre is achieved.

She encouraged them to make good use of the centre by availing themselves to the training which would exposed them to practical business ideas that would enable them become self-reliance and contribute their quoter toward the general well being of the state.
