Vote Sanwo-Olu For Continuity; We Can’t Allow The Green Horns To Determine Our Destiny – Jide Kosoko

  • Sanwo-Olu is gearing up for a reelection battle.

  • His reelection was expected to be noncompetitive but his party’s loss in the February 25 presidential election in Lagos has complicated his path to victory.

  • The governorship election is set to hold next Saturday, March 11, 2023.

Eko Hot Blog reports that veteran actor, Jide Kosoko, has urged Lagosians to reelect Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the governor of Lagos State.

In a video message shared with Eko Hot Blog on Monday, the Lagos prince called for continuity, saying Lagosians cannot afford to commit their lives and wellbeing to the hands of “learners.”

Kosoko, a direct descendant of King Kosoko of Lagos, noted that Sanwo-Olu is “tested and trusted,” making him the “best bet” to move the state forward in its quest for greatness.

He, therefore, called on Lagos residents to troop out en masse on Saturday to reelect the Lagos governor.

“The [Lagos] governorship election comes on Saturday, the 11th of March, 2023, with Lagos State being one of the states of interest. Though a lot has been argued on the forthcoming election, some bordering on tribalism. But despite the fact every politics is local, that is not the focus of my message to our respectable residents of Lagos,” the veteran actor said.

“What is ahead of us is more of who among the many candidates jostling for the office of governor of Lagos State has the experience, track record, pedigree, and history of performance. Someone whose activities will enhance the status of the state as the commercial and financial capital of Nigeria.

“Let me state here that many of the residents of Lagos who are excelling in business, especially trade are doing so because successive administrations in Lagos since 1999 have made it possible, creating an enabling environment for everyone who is not lazy to excel.

“I dare say that it is not your hard work or intellectual capacity or trade acumen alone that has made you successful because there are far better individuals in other states in the country who are not as blessed and successful as you are.

“Talking about experience in public service, competence, track record of performance and commitment to the common man on the street, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu stands out. He is no doubt a performer; a man of the people and someone who has been tested and trusted.

“Dear Lagos residents, we cannot afford to leave the governance of our dear state and its economy, the fifth largest in Africa, to the hands of people or someone who will ‘try by error’.

“We can’t commit our lives and wellbeing to the hands of learners. Our best bet is Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the man who knows the road that will continue with the good works he’s already doing.

“I appeal to you all to troop out en masse on Saturday, the 11th of March, 2023, and vote for Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu so that the vision of the rising, greater Lagos he has embarked on can become a reality.

“Continue to protect your investments, keep the peace of the state intact, and make the state the model that it is. It is our duty to make it happen and I believe we can do it.”
