Voters in Kano State started arriving polling units as early as 6:30 a.m. in centres within Kano metropolis on Saturday.
A voter at the Kwakwachi primary school polling centre, who gave his name as Moses Ubah said he and his friends most of whom were voting for the first time were determined to make a difference.
He said, “Most of us will be voting for the first time today. As you can see we are here, we’ve been here since 6:30 a.m. and it’s almost 8:00 am, only police and party agents are here.”
The situation was different in Gwagwarwa Primary School where prospective voters and election officers were waiting for voting to start.
Electoral Officers could be seen sorting materials and coupling plastic voting tables in preparation for the exercise.
