WAEC Makes NIN Compulsory For WASSCE Registration
- WAEC has made NIN compulsory for WASSCE registration.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has said that the National Identification Number (NIN) would become compulsory for registration of its West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) from 2022.
This was made known by the Head of the National Office of WAEC, Mr. Patrick Areghan, at a news conference in Lagos on Tuesday.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the latest development is coming after WAEC announced August 16, 2021, as the date for the commencement of the 2021 WASSCE.
Areghan said the NIN would become a major requirement for registration for WASSCE for school candidates with effect from 2022, saying, “It will be No NIN, no entry.”
According to the WAEC boss, the latest development means that all prospective candidates must register with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) and get their NIN.
