Wale Raji Harps On Quality Representation, Says People’s Wellbeing Is Priority

Wale Raji, lawmaker representing Epe at house of representatives, has reiterated the need for synergy and smooth relationship between the executive and legislative arm of government as a panacea to swiftly addressing the plethora of social and economic ravaging the masses.

The lawmaker spoke during a courtesy visit to Oloja of Epe, HRM, Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun at his Royal Palace in Epe on Friday 12th February 2020 alongside Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folashade Adefisayo, during an inspection tour.

Ekohotblog gathered that Hon Wale Raji, express delight at the relationship between  Oba Animashaun, and the Education Commissioner.

He averred that both the Executive and Legislative arm of Government must be united and work out collaboratively to untangle the challenges of the people in terms of attracting meaningful infrastructural projects.

While noting that opportunities are enormous at the National Assembly through lobbying, He, therefore, restated the need for Lawmakers to look beyond core Lawmaking duties and pay attention to the needs of the people.

” I must commend the collaborative efforts of the Honourable Education Commissioner. We’ve been working hand in hand.

It is only a foolhardy Lawmaker that would insist he was only elected to make legislations at the House of Representatives. In a situation whereby challenges are confronting the Government, we must work harmoniously irrespective of our functions to attract meaningful projects to our communities.

“Opportunities abound at the National Assembly but it can only be unlocked by the wise and smart. My role is not confined to Lawmaking alone. You must be able to lobby to attract projects and that is what we have been doing.

” As far as Lawmaking is concerned, we are doing our best. In the 9th assembly, I’ve sponsored 8 bills and not mere motions. We have accomplished that in the area of representation and core legislative assignment. But we are not limiting ourselves to lawmaking alone, we are also going into areas of needs for our people “, he stated.
