Eko Hot Blog reports that the lawmaker representing Epe Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Wale Raji, has reassured youths in the constituency of his commitment to support talent development to promote arts, culture, and tourism.
In an interview with Eko Hot Blog, he made the disclosure on the sidelines of the Epe Christmas Concert through his representative and Senior Legislative Aide (SLA), Mr. Bashir Hassan, at iconic Lagos Theatre, Epe, on Friday, December 9, 2022.
According to Raji, the arts and tourism sectors are viable areas of development for youths who demonstrated immense mastery of various aspects of musical performance.
“Events of this magnitude is what we keenly love to identify with and we will stop at nothing to support the growth of local talents who are dedicated in their trade,” he said.
“Without any iota of doubt, I would say this is fantastic concerning the entire set which includes the concept delivery, innovation, and packaging. I am overwhelmed to experience the atmosphere, I think it is encouraging and it shows that the development of youthful talents in Epe is on course.
“This is going side by side with infrastructural and human-capita development in the town which is exciting. Just like one of the guests observed, she was astonished at the class of the facility which she ascribed to those encountered in Lagos metropolis and not Epe.”
The representative also noted the importance of his office supporting fantastic ideas such as the organisation of the Christmas concert which can improve the socio-economic landscape of the town if well nurtured.
Although Raji admitted that the leadership of Epe Federal Constituency is not running at full pace yet, he said the leadership is notwithstanding intentional in its all-encompassing service to the people.
“If this kind of event is well nurtured, it is also going to add to the economic development of the community in terms of earning a living through talent display, relaxation from guests, and fun seekers who used the medium as an opportunity to extend their heart of gratitude to God for experiencing the Christmas season,” he said.
“I look forward to the sustainability of the event which could transform into a bigger jamboree for days, thereby placing the Lagos Theater on the world map as one of the worthy legacies of the Governor Ambode-led administration in Lagos.”
Speaking with Eko Hot Blog, Raji noted Epe’s potential of becoming the new Lagos.
According to the lawmaker, the potential has begun to manifest, but he called for concerted efforts to fasten the pace of development. He called on Epe elites to leverage the maximum advantage of the opportunity based on the assiduous efforts of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
“Let’s keep advancing the progressive agenda. The new slogan in town is ‘A Greater Lagos Rising’ and Epe should not be left behind,” he said.
Finally, the lawmaker urged the organisers of the programme to explore more private partnerships to make the concert much bigger.
Meanwhile, the soul-edifying and fun Christmas concert witnessed a blend of traditional and modern musical and dramatic performances from D’Quell Choir, the organiser of the event led by its Convener, Mr. Ademola Adedoyin, a Music Lecturer at the Lagos State University of Education (LASUED), Michael Otedola Campus, formerly MOCPED.
While Sax Gold, PDG Drama Troupe and Celestial Church of Christ choir, Ibukun Olu Parish thrilled the concertgoers, Pastor Bukki Oluwagbemi, Lead Pastor, Kingdom Family Church (Success Arena) gave the Christmas message alongside Superior Evangelist Prophet Gabriel Ayodele (CCC Odomola Parish I), who led the third reading.
Besides, the event’s convener noted that the concert was organised to give young people in Epe a stage to showcase their talents.
He, therefore, appreciated the many sponsors of the programme for their financial support.
“The project was initiated to give young talents in Epe the platform to excel on a bigger stage, gather the Epe residents and environs together to celebrate the season and I am excited that the dream came to reality for another year,” Adedoyin said.
“I, therefore, extend my profound gratitude to my pillars of support and sponsors for their love and belief in the objectives of the project. Worthy to mention is Hon. Justice Adeniyi Adebajo, Hon. Wale Raji (MHR), Associate Prof. Nosiru Onibon, Dr. MA Shittu, Mrs. Sarah Aleshinloye, Mr. Okunlola I.A, Mrs. Regina Imoisili, Eko Hot Blog, Domino’s Pizza, Sampitag, The Quellers and many more.”
