Eko Hot Blog reports that House of Representatives member, Hon. Wale Raji has restated his commitment to rejigging Epe’s local economy through women/youth empowerment and infrastructure provision, saying accomplishing this lofty goal had seen him embarking on numerous projects in the constituency.
The lawmaker representing Epe Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and also Chairman of the House Services Committee said this at the Epe-Division Professional Women Association’s 2022 Annual General Meeting, where he bagged the “Epe Icon of the Year Award.”
According to Raji, the projects range from providing classrooms and furniture to schools, cooperative empowerment, market development, youth training in different vocations, and road construction, among others.
The lawmaker appreciated the women’s group, comprising topnotch professionals in the Academia, Judiciary, Public service, Media, and Business, among others, for the honour, urging them to ensure they were concerned and involved in bringing on board quality leaders to serve in public offices.
Presenting the award on behalf of the women’s group, Duke Garbadeen Olabode expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Hon. Raji for touching the people’s lives by embarking on impactful projects in different parts of the Epe Federal Constituency, urging him not to rest on his oars.
Speaking on behalf of the women, the newly inaugurated president of the group, Mrs. Balogun Margaret, equally appreciated the legislator for his consistent support to the group over the years and his commitment to do more when the need arises.
The event was also graced by other eminent members of the society, including Associate Professor Nosiru Onibon, Odofin Charles Keshinro, Epe Local Government Chairman, Princess Surah Animashaun, and a host of others.
Professor Nosiru Onibon, in an interview with Eko Hot Blog, commended Hon Raji’s transformative agenda that has engendered an unprecedented and unbroken quality representation in Epe Federal Constituency.
“The reward of hard work is to continue to work on more life-changing initiatives for the underprivileged in society.”
