As part of his effort to give back to the society and also ameliorate the suffering of the people against the backdrop of the economic downturn occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic, Hon. Wale Raji, the legislator representing the Federal Constituency at the Green Chamber has unveiled his empowerment and social intervention projects for his constituents.
The lawmaker unveiled the projects namely the Grassroot Traders Support initiative and Elders Welfare Scheme at a ceremony on 28th November, 2020.
The lawmaker reeled out the motions he has moved since he was elected in 2015 and how these motions have morphed into bills which have reflected on the the lives of his constituents.
the lawmaker recalled that his first motion on the floor at house in 2016 was on the electric power situation in Epe while the problem is being addressed with the commencement of work on the Omotosho-Epe-Ajah Power Project.
He further stated that his intervention in the deplorable conditions of roads linking to Epe has yielded great fruits. Works have been embarked upon by the government to fixed all the roads.
On education, he added that ” the issue of ‘overcrowded classes’ in our schools is receiving attention with ongoing construction of blocks of classrooms in; Army Children High School, L. G. Primary School, Oriba, Odomola secondary school, and Agbowa community senior secondary school”
“Additionally, I commissioned the ground-breaking event of a fully equipped ICT centre in Epe Girls High School yesterday”, he announced.
Furthermore, the lawmaker said “Ever since I made a pact to serve my people through politics, God has enabled me to use the Wale Raji Youth Empowerment Scheme (WRYES) and the Wale Raji Poverty Alleviation Programme (WRPAP) to give back to my dear kinsmen and different members of the Epe Federal Consistency” he pointed out.
He however noted that, the sum of N27.5m were distributed to one thousand and one hundred (1100) people as part of the programme to empower traders while one hundred (100) aged beneficiaries who are 70 years and above will be receiving monthly stipends of ten thousand naira only (N10,000:00k) each.
Meanwhile, he seized the medium to canvas support for the APC candidate for the Lagos East bye-election coming up on Saturday, 5th December, 2020, Mr. Tokunbo Abiru who he described as a man of trusted and tested character who has displayed his experience in all ramifications and has succeeded.
The APC Lagos State Chairman, Alhaji Tunde Balogun in his remarks extolled the virtues of Hon. Wale Raji who he described as a blessing to the people of Epe Federal Consistency. He commended the legislator for embarking upon such laudable projects. As these will have multiplying effects on the people.
The event was graced by creme-de-creme of Lagos politics saw in attendance the APC State Chairman, Alhaji Tunde Balogun, the Vice-Chairman, APC Lagos East Senatorial District, Otunba Kaoli Olusanya, the APC Lagos East Senatorial District candidate in the forthcoming bye-election, Hon. Tokunbo Abiru, the Apashe of Epeland, Alhaji Shakirudeen Akanni Seriki, the APC Lagos State Welfare Officer, Alhaja Ramotallahi Bankole, the Lagos State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs. Bolaji Dada, the Representative of the Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Adewunmi Onanuga ( Ikenne/Shagamu Federal Consistency), Hon. Abiodun Tobun, member, LAHA, Epe I and Hon. Oluwadahunsi Ogunkelu, member, LAHA, Epe II.
Others were; Hon. Adedoyin Adesanya, the Executive Chairman, Epe Local Government, Hon. Saliu Adeniyi, the Executive Chairman, Eredo LCDA, Hon.
