EKO HOT BLOG reports walmart is launching a new grocery brand named BetterGoods to appeal to shoppers amidst high inflation.
With most items priced under $5, the retailer aims to retain its position as the largest grocer in the U.S., where 60% of its sales come from groceries.
The move comes as Walmart’s food business has seen a 7% increase in sales, reaching $264.2 billion in the last fiscal year.
This initiative follows a trend in the industry where retailers are expanding their private label offerings due to supply chain disruptions and changing consumer preferences.
Walmart’s BetterGoods will feature trendy and chef-driven foods in categories like frozen foods, dairy, and snacks, priced between under $2 and under $15.
The brand will focus on culinary flair, plant-based options, and ingredient exclusions, catering to diverse consumer needs.
This new addition will complement Walmart’s existing private brands, including the popular Great Value line.
