At least 40,265 people have been killed and 93,144 wounded in Gaza due to Israeli military attacks since October 7, according to the enclave’s Health Ministry.

Al Jazeera, citing the ministry, reported that within the past 24 hours alone, 42 Palestinians were killed and 163 were wounded.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that on October 7, an estimated 1,139 people were killed in Israel during Hamas-led attacks, with over 200 taken captive.

The ministry also reported that approximately 93,144 individuals have been injured in the ongoing assault.

“Israeli forces killed 42 people and injured 163 others in four ‘massacres’ of families in the last 24 hours,” the ministry said.

“Many people are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads as rescuers are unable to reach them,” it added.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has relentlessly pursued its offensive on the Gaza Strip in response to a Hamas attack, despite a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire.

More than 10 months into the conflict, Gaza remains devastated, with vast areas in ruins and the population suffering under a crippling blockade that severely limits access to food, clean water, and medicine.

Israel is facing genocide accusations at the International Court of Justice, which has ordered a suspension of military operations in Rafah, a southern city where over a million Palestinians had taken refuge before it was invaded on May 6.

Meanwhile, ongoing discussions between Egyptian, Israeli, and U.S. officials are centered on the border, with Israel insisting on maintaining a military presence in the Philadelphi Corridor—a stretch of land along the border, as reported by Axios.

Egypt has firmly rejected any long-term Israeli presence in the corridor, viewing it as a security threat. Hamas has also demanded that Israeli forces withdraw from the area, which they captured in late May, insisting that any ceasefire agreement must include a full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, including the Philadelphi Corridor.

This issue remains a major point of contention, and Axios reports that President Biden has urged Prime Minister Netanyahu to show “flexibility” on the matter during the talks.
