EKO HOT BLOG reports that Russian military commanders are increasingly worried about the vulnerability of Crimea to Ukrainian attacks, according to the UK’s Ministry of Defence (MoD).
The fears have forced Putin’s generals to make a significant change to their bombing campaigns against Ukrainian civilian infrastructure.
Military bases on the peninsula had previously been used to launch drone (UAVs) attacks against Ukrainian cities.
However, the latest attacks saw UAVs deployed from Russia’s Krasnodar region.
Analysts at the UK’s MoD wrote: “The change of launch site is likely due to Russian concerns about the vulnerability of Crimea, while it is also convenient for resupply from the weapons’ likely arrival point in Russia, at Astrakhan.”
