EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Water Corporation has rehabilitated the Two Million Gallons per Day (MGD) Mosan-Okunola Waterworks, in the Abesan area of the State.
According to a statement by the Managing Director of the Corporation, Engr. Muminu Badmus, the rehabilitated waterworks will enhance the water supply to residents.
He added that the Corporation has also completed the redevelopment of three low-yield boreholes at Mosan-Okunola Waterworks to increase output.
Engr Muminu also informed residents that plans are underway to dig additional boreholes to complement the existing ones for improved service delivery, stressing that a test run is ongoing on the restored water pumps and power generator at the water station.
“Mosan-Okunola Waterworks has been facing a series of challenges, ranging from low yield boreholes to problems of processing pumps and epileptic power supply, among others. These have greatly affected the efficiency of the waterworks and interrupted water supply to the residents of Abesan and adjoining communities”.
Engr. Badmus assured that full operation is expected to resume soon at the Abesan Waterworks which will ensure regular potable water supply to all residents of the area.
