The family of Lanre Razak has debunked reports that the All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart and ace politician from Epe died of COVID-19.
The family refuted the report in an exclusive interview with EkoHotBlog.
EkoHotBlog had reported the demise of the former Lagos state commissioner for transport on Saturday, August 15, at Reddington hospital in Lagos, after a brief illness.
Speaking with EkoHotBlog, Lanre Razaq Jr, one of the sons of Chief Lanre, said the demise of his was not in any way related to coronavirus complications.

Lanre Jr said the family couldn’t point to the exact cause of his father’s death.
He said, “I can tell you unequivocally that my Father did not contract the virulent virus. He did not die of the virus either.”
He admitted that his father had his fair share of health-related challenges, but God bestowed upon him a wonderful heath for most of his life.
He has since been sick since June before he gave up the ghost on the 15th of August, 2020.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the deceased was one time, Chairman, Epe Local Government, Commissioner for transportation, Lagos State, Lagos east senatorial aspirant, and one time Lagos state Governorship aspirant and a member of GAC of All Progressive Congress (APC)in the State
Razak said, four days prior to his death, the family was hopeful, and there were indications for a full recuperation as his late father was responding to treatment. He even promised to connect with the family soon at home.
“But to my dismay, I received the news of his sudden death early hour on Saturday.
“I can’t believe my father is gone, he will be missed dearly, ” he said.
The remains of late Lanre Rasaq was buried according to Muslim rites on Saturday, August 15th, in his hometown, Epe.
