Eko Hot Blog reports that Ukraine’s first lady, Olena Zelenska, expresses her emotional distress about the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia.

Olena has not held back her emotions about the war as she claimed to have lost touch with her husband and the family ties since the war began.

She said she and her husband no longer live together and the family bond and time is missing at the time the children need their father the most. Although, they have the opportunity to see their father, the time is not enough

“This may be a bit selfish, but I need my husband, not a historical figure, by my side; But we stay strong, we have strength both emotionally and physically. And I am sure we will handle it together,” she said.

She had gone into hiding with her children in unknown locations at the early stage of the war in 2022.

However, since she emerged last year after months in hiding, she has traveled to many countries, meeting with world leaders to give speeches as regards the state of the country.

Olena who has been a secondary school sweetheart with the Volodymyr expressed her concern for her nineteen year old daughter who would have loved to travel to different countries for exploration but for the war.

She stated categorically the turn the war is taking on her family and the entirety of her mental well-being and that of her children’s.

The first lady alongside her husband and president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, have been in the global spotlight since the country was invaded by Russia on February 24, 2022.

The impact of the war has greatly affected the various sectors of the country, especially its economy, being one of the largest exporters of grain in the world.
