Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie has again taken a swipe at some of his critics, saying that he does not need “political experience” to run for the country’s highest office.
Edochie, in a recent tweet shared on his Twitter handle, said politicians with political experience have not really done much since the country gained independence from British rule in 1960.
According to the former Anambra state governorship candidate, what the country needs is “a compassionate, visionary youth with integrity who hasn’t been corrupted by the system.
Meanwhile, Nigerians have begun reacting to his tweet. While many supported his quest to lead the country, others submitted that his ambition is a bit premature.
Eko Hot Blog culled some comments from Twitter:
@PGemmog: “As I always says…Donald Trump became the president of united states without prior political experience and he’s the best nationalist so far so I think Yul can do that also…the ones we have as Rulers don’t even know the meaning of politics just spoiling the country the more.”
@SucessTayo: “Being a fine boy or have the ability to speaks queen English can’t makes person a president, U have to work hard meh.. Everything is about learning. There’s hierarchy in politics circle in Nigeria, no body know u as a politician yet but common Nollywood: know this & know peace.”
@Kene46867301: “Presidency is not acting movie, God doesn’t use someone he has not prepared, you will make fine leader one day but start from somewhere, Anambra state upcoming Governorship election is near , contest. Test your popularity there. Support your brother @PeterObi . He is the finest”

@TonyCNonso: “By that they don’t mean that you don’t have experience to rule. What they mean is playing the actual politics to win elections. But I hope your next attempt is beyond fruitful.”
@NzekweCelestin6: “It is quite obvious you don’t understand what they mean by POLITICAL EXPIRIENCE,actually, what they are saying is that, if you are given a chance, you might not know how to steal from the people, and that you might end up being a workaholic, instead of being a criminal.”
