We Will Chase Them Out — Nyesom Wike Vows

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has vowed to purge the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of its presidential candidate in the 2019 and 2023 election, Atiku Abubakar, the National Chairman of the PDP, Iyorchia Ayu, and some other leaders of the party.

Wike made the announcement at the commissioning of a road project in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State on Thursday.

Governor Wike attributed the PDP’s loss in the just-concluded presidential election to those who he said had refused to obey the party’s constitution, and he promised to chase them out of the party and begin the process of rebuilding it. He referred to the move as the “second phase of the war.”

“These people left our party in 2014-2015, our party lost; again, they came back, and our party has lost again. They have destroyed our party. We are going to chase them away from our party. They have no role to play for our party,” Wike said.

Governor Wike further criticized the leadership of the PDP for accusing the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of not following election guidelines when the PDP allegedly refused to follow the party’s constitution. He also mocked the PDP leaders for staging a protest against INEC, describing them as “students unions.”
