Racism: I Am Not Optimistic About Spain -- Guardiola

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is confident his team will bounce back after suffering four straight defeats, marking the first time in his managerial career that such a run has occurred.

City’s latest setback came in a 2-1 loss to Brighton, following previous defeats to Bournemouth in the Premier League, Tottenham in the Carabao Cup, and Sporting in the Champions League.

Guardiola acknowledged that his side is not performing at their usual level, citing key injuries to players like Ruben Dias, John Stones, Kevin de Bruyne, and Jack Grealish as significant challenges. However, he remains optimistic that City will regain their best form.

“That’s what it is always about – not being complacent when you win a lot,” said Guardiola.

“We know how difficult it is and how nice it will be when we win again.

“Right now, we are not at our best, it’s obvious. But it’s still November – we’ll recover our best.”

Rodri and Oscar Bobb are also among the key absentees for Manchester City, with Guardiola giving a debut to 19-year-old central defender Jahmai Simpson-Pusey in the match against Brighton.

Meanwhile, Liverpool capitalized on City’s difficulties, moving five points clear at the top of the Premier League table after their victory over Aston Villa.

Guardiola acknowledged that, despite City’s remarkable success in recent years—including a 32-match unbeaten league run before the November loss to Bournemouth—his team is not immune to defeat.

“I was a football player and many times I lost a lot of games – four, five, six in a row,” he said.

“I never expect different, just because we won in the past or that we are special.

“People can believe that, but it’s not true.”
