We Will Not Be Intimated By Violence – Osun PDP On Attack Of Secretariat

  • The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Osun State chapter has strongly faulted the unprovoked attack on its secretariat by suspected political thugs in an attempt to scare party faithful from an important event scheduled to hold on the premises on Tuesday.

The party described itself as a major stakeholder in the affairs of the state, and committed to maintaining law and order, expressed that the assault on its Secretariat was an act of cowardice and desperation taken too far.

EkohotBlog reports that the condemnation was contained in a statement made available by the PDP State Publicity Secretary, Ayodeji Areola. The party described the perpetrators of the attack and their backers as shameless because they are showcasing how harmful they are to society’s peace.

The statement mentioned that “All political urchins in the hands of rejected looters should take note or they have themselves to blame in the end. This we reiterate, is not a joke.”

The Osun PDP also charged the State Commissioner of Police, the State Director, Department of State Security, and other security agencies to immediately put machinery in place to investigate and track down the source of the attack on its Secretariat and fish out the perpetrators.

The statement reads: “As much as it is in the culture of our party supporters to show restraint in the face of the unnecessary provocation, we ask security agencies to ensure adequate protection of our party’s assets and members.

“This will ensure the confidence of our people in the security agencies to forestall breaking endurance limit of the people”, the statement concluded.
