  • What Nnamdi Kanu’s Brother Said After FG Claimed He Denied IPOB Membership

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Kanu Meme, a younger brother of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on Thursday described as “very laughable” the statement by the Nigerian government’s lawyer Shuaibu Labaran Magaj, that the separatist leader denied being a member of the outlawed group in court on Wednesday.

Magaji stated this while speaking with newsmen at the federal high court, Abuja premises after Kanu’s trial was adjourned till February 16.

According to him, the defence team ambushed the court with an application for bail and another application seeking to quash the charges against Kanu.

Magaji added that Kanu “vehemently” denied being an IPOB member.

“One of the charges suggesting that the defendant, Nnamdi Kanu is a member of IPOB and he vehemently denied being a member of IPOB. That is very curious and we urge Nigerians to see us through how we are going to prove all those charges against the defendant in no time to come,” Magaji had said.

But reacting, Meme ridiculed the claim, saying the FG cannot be prosecuting his brother as IPOB leader, and also claim he said he isn’t a member of IPOB.

“You are prosecuting and persecuting Mazi Nnamdi Kanu as the ipob leader and the same time your telling the media he denied being ipob leader.Very laughable,” Meme wrote on his known Facebook page.
