EKO HOT BLOG reports that Chelsea forward Raheem Sterling has given insight into what the new manager at Stamford Bridge can expect to find in the dressing room. The Blues have been without a permanent manager since the dismissal of Graham Potter, and interim boss Frank Lampard has failed to turn the club’s fortunes around.
With Chelsea’s owners, led by Todd Boehly, expected to make an announcement regarding their new manager imminently, Sterling believes that the new appointment will be working with a squad that has plenty of potential.
He expressed his belief that the players are there for the manager to mould into a winning team.
“Whoever takes over will find a bunch of talented players. Like anything, wherever you go, you need a structure that we as players follow, and a leader. It’s as simple as that,” Sterling said.
The 27-year-old winger is no stranger to success, having won numerous trophies with Manchester City over the years. He has been in impressive form this season, having scored 10 goals and provided 6 assists in 32 appearances in all competitions.
Despite the team’s recent struggles, Sterling remains optimistic about Chelsea’s prospects under a new manager. He believes that the team’s talented players just need the right guidance to reach their full potential.
“It’s about having that belief and that structure, and I think that’s what we need to get back to. We’ve got a lot of quality players, and if we can get that structure right, then I’m sure we can start winning games and challenging for trophies again,” Sterling added.
Chelsea’s next match is a crucial one, against Arsenal in the premier league on Sunday.
