EKO HOT BLOG reports that Nollywood actress, Mary Remmy Njoku, has weighed in on the divorce proceedings between Moroccan footballer, Achraf Hakimi, 24, and his ex-wife, Hiba Abouk, 36.
It has been alleged that during the proceedings, Hakimi claimed to have no assets in his name to give to Abouk as he had put everything in his mother’s name. Reacting to the news, Njoku suggested that the contracts putting Hakimi’s fortune in his mother’s name were likely signed when he was a teenager.
Njoku went on to blame Hakimi’s ex-wife for getting involved with him when he was still a teenager and dependent on his parents. She stated that it was unrealistic to expect a teenage African boy to be independent from his parents, adding that no sane African mother would completely let go of her teenage child.
The actress also took to social media to express her opinion on the matter. In one post, she said that a teenager is his mother’s son, while a man is his wife’s husband. She pointed out that every successful teenage athlete had a parent or guardian who believed in them more than they believed in themselves and who sacrificed everything to ensure their child stood out.
The divorce saga between Hakimi and Abouk has been making headlines in recent weeks. The couple got married in 2019 and have two children together. However, reports suggest that they have been having issues in their marriage, leading to the divorce proceedings.
