Where Is That Which Was Promised? — Chioma Chukwuka Asks

  • Nollywood actress, Chioma Chukwuka revealed on Instagram to have been attacked by thugs while out to cast her vote in the Lagos State governorship election.

  • This would mark the second occurrence of such incident in the Lagos polls as Chioma Chukwuka narrated being attacked in the Presidential elections in February 25 polls as well.

  • The actress stressed she ran with her life, questioning the free and fair elections that was promised.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that popular Nollywood actress, Chioma Akpotha, has reportedly been attacked by some suspected political thugs while at a polling unit in Lagos State.

The incident which occurred on Saturday during the gubernatorial election left the actress in a state of shock and fear for her life. According to a video she shared on her Instagram page, the thugs destroyed her side mirror and were armed with knives.

In the video, she said, “They destroyed my side mirror, I don’t even know the extent of the damage but they were with knives. I ran for my life. What happened to the free and fair election they promised us? Nothing is free and fair.”

The actress further revealed that the attack took place while she was at the polling unit exercising her civic duty, expressing disappointment in the lack of safety and security at polling units.

It is not clear if the incident has been reported to the appropriate authorities, but the actress has urged the government to take necessary measures to ensure that such attacks do not occur in the future.
