Former Super Eagles player, Friday Ekpo blasted Leicester Forward, Kelechi Iheanacho for signing contract with clubs for money sake.
According to the ex-Nigerian star Friday Ekpo, Iheanacho who was a shining light at the 2013 U-17 World Cup is the cause of his dwindling career.
The forward was then touted to make waves in no distant time as he signed for English Premier League side Manchester City.
However, Iheanacho who was contracted by Leicester City following his struggles to get playing time at City has failed to revive his young career.
His lack of action for the Foxes saw him missing in the Super Eagles team that won a bronze medal at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.
Many football fans hoped his omission will trigger him to work harder but that has not been the case as the forward has not played a game for Brendan Rodgers’ side in the Premier League this term.

Speaking about the matter, Ekpo faulted Iheanacho’s move to Leicester City, insisting that there were many clubs willing to sign him from City but he joined the Foxes due to money.
“Iheanacho is still young but age is gradually catching upon him. He needs a club where he would be playing regularly,” Ekpo told Brila FM.
“To me, Iheanacho is the architect of his misfortune. He should be more interested in playing the game than chasing after megabucks.
“If he moves to Besiktas, his value would drop and he is not going to the club to grab an automatic shirt.
“He is still going to fight for a regular place because Besiktas is not a small club in Turkey.”
