This is not the first time Mourinho has been sent off this season, as he has already been shown two red cards in previous matches.
Roma, who were facing the bottom of the table Cremonese, went behind in the first half due to a goal from Frank Tsadjout. Mourinho, visibly frustrated at his side going behind to a team with limited success this season, took his anger out on the officials at the start of the second half. Just two minutes after the break, he was given a red card for dissent.
The incident has brought attention to Mourinho’s relationship with authority, as the coach has never been afraid to express his feelings about officials in the past.
Earlier this season, Roma coach Salvatore Foti was banned for a month after his tirade at officials following the Giallorossi’s exit from the Coppa Italia. The same team, Cremonese, were responsible for Roma’s exit from the competition.
Fans on social media were quick to comment on Mourinho’s latest sending off, with some suggesting that the manager’s behavior has rubbed off on his staff.
One user joked that Jose Mourinho now has more red cards than his actual players, while another quipped that it wouldn’t be a Roma match without Mourinho being sent off.
Cremonese’s season has been full of surprises, with the team yet to win a league game by the end of February. Despite their lack of success in Serie A, they managed to knock out runaway league leaders Napoli in the Coppa Italia, and will face Fiorentina in the semi-finals of the competition.

Roma, meanwhile, managed to equalize through Leonardo Spinazzola in the 71st minute, salvaging a point from the game. However, the attention remains on Mourinho’s behavior, as the coach’s conduct continues to attract criticism.
