Shehu Sani has opened up on Naira’s appreciation against Dollar.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the former Senator for Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has disclosed the reason for the recent appreciation of the naira against the dollar.
This online media platform understands that the naira rose to N730/$ after falling to about 900/$ a few days ago in the parallel market.
Speaking on the development via a tweet on Friday, Shehu explained that the Naira appreciated against the Dollar because of the alleged threat by the United States against the hoarding of the Dollar in several places around the world including Nigeria.
He wrote, “Forex dealers are insisting that Naira appreciated against the Dollar not because of any CBN intervention but because of the alleged threat by the US against the hoarding of the Dollar in Nigeria.”
According to reports gathered, following the announcement of the naira redesign by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Naira fell against the dollar in the black market.
