Why Nigerian Artistes Despise Me – Davido

Nigerian pop star, Davido says the deep resentment harboured towards him in the Nigerian music industry is because he’s from a wealthy and privileged family.

Davido, who made his foray into the music arena, a little over a decade ago and has remained a force to be reckoned with in the industry since then, was reacting to submission by a fan who claimed that artistes in the  industry hated him because Davido was born with a silver spoon.

The fan said Davido did not have issues with anyone and all he wanted to do was make nice music.

The fan wrote: “I agree now the envy is too on this lad. He didn’t ask to be born rich, all he wants to do is make good music and leave a legacy.”

Davido, responding to the comment, said that he had been weathering the storm of hate and prejudice in the industry for 10 years because he is a rich kid.

He added that he remained unfazed by the situation and would not let it dampen his resolve or let it force him to leave music.

On his Twitter page, Davido wrote: “Everyone knows this is the truth!!! 10 years I have been fighting this shit! But I swear nobody ‘go see me finish again!’

“I will continue to deliver you guys! TULE!!!!!

Recall that the ‘Fem’ crooner had threatened to leave the music industry after a reported fight with Burna boy in Ghana on Sunday night.
