EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in Friday, said that APC presidential candidate Bola Tinubu was at President Muhammadu Buhari’s official residence, inside the Presidential Villa in Abuja, on a “appreciation visit” on Thursday.
Sanwo-Olu, who accompanied Tinubu to the Villa, made the announcement on Twitter on Friday.
The visit on Thursday evening was the first since Tinubu won the APC presidential ticket with 1,271 votes on Wednesday.
However, Sanwo-Olu stated that the visit was necessary as a result of Buhari’s non-interference in the APC’s special convention and presidential primary, which resulted in Tinubu being elected as the party’s presidential flagbearer for 2023.
Tinubu and his entourage, he said, were grateful to the President for providing a level playing field for all candidates.
“I accompanied our leader, and APC Presidential flag bearer, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on an appreciation visit to His Excellency, President Muhammad Buhari,” Samwo-Olu said on his Twitter account.
“We are grateful to him for providing a level playing field for all aspirants.
“He also gave party members the freedom to choose who should be their flag bearer without hindrance.”
“This is a unique quality that should be praised.
“As a result, Your Excellency, we salute you.” Muhammadu Buhari is the President of Nigeria.
“We also paid a visit to His Excellency, V.P. Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.
“The project called Nigeria is a collective task. All hands will be on deck as we embark on this journey.
