Ekohotblog reports that the Osun State Commissioner for Education, Folorunsho Oladoyin, has explained why the government delayed carrying on with the recruitment of teachers for public schools in the state.
Oladoyin who made this known while appearing before the Osun State House of Assembly Appropriation Committee to defend the Ministry of Education 2022 budget presented by Governor Adegboyega Oyetola said the paucity of funds was responsible for the delay and inability of the government to carry on with the recruitment.

He expressed that the delay in recruitment was caused by a paucity of funds and assured that the names of successful candidates in the teacher’s recruitment exercise would be published and mobilised to classrooms by November.
Speaking earlier, the House Minority Leader, Babajide Adewunmi who had lamented the lack of teachers in Osun public schools, questioned why the state government was yet to employ the new set of teachers who scaled through the test and screening processes in the recent recruitment exercise.
Adewunmi, however, reminded the commissioner of his promise to the House of Assembly that teacher recruitment will be carried out in November and demanded to know why the legislator’s pledge was yet to be fulfilled almost a year after.
