Why We Introduced E-Registration, APC Discloses

Eko Hot Blog reports that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced its adoption of electronic registration to ensure an accurate tally of its membership nationwide.

Suleiman Argungu, the National Organising Secretary of the party, disclosed this decision during a press briefing in Abuja on Tuesday, during a courtesy visit by Mrs. Ronke Soyombo, the National Director of the APC Professional Women Council.

Argungu expressed concerns over previous inaccuracies in membership figures, particularly noted during the 2022-2023 period and subsequent elections.

“We have decided to implement e-registration to precisely determine the number of our members across wards, local governments, and states,” Argungu stated, underscoring the party’s commitment to verifying grassroots support and ensuring reliable membership data nationwide.

Highlighting the importance of the initiative, Argungu urged groups such as the APC Professional Women Council to actively mobilize members for the upcoming electronic registration process.

In response, Mrs Ronke Soyombo emphasized the need for increased female participation in the upcoming governorship elections in Edo and Ondo states. She urged the party leadership to involve women in pivotal committees to bolster their engagement and support at the grassroots level.

The APC’s move to electronic registration marks a significant step towards transparency and accuracy in its membership records, ahead of future electoral engagements.
