EKO HOT BLOG reports that a diaspora group, Yoruba One Voice (YOV), has called on Yoruba people across the world not to relent in the campaign for self-determination for the dwellers of the South-West region.
A statement by the diaspora group on Sunday quoted the Aare Ona Kankanfo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams, and others to have made the call while speaking at a webinar conference organised by the group.
The statement was titled, ‘Yoruba Nation’ll forge ahead with self-determination agenda -YOV’.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that Gani Adams and other speakers at the conference stated that the self-determination groups must continue their agitation for the Yoruba Nation regardless of the challenges being faced.
Speaking, Gani Adams enjoined other like-mind groups both within and outside Nigeria to join the quest for the liberation of the Yoruba race.
The Aare Ona Kankanfo of Yorubaland further urged the international community to support the call for Yoruba self-determination agenda, noting that there would light at the end of the tunnel.

“With the success recorded today, YOV had made history, as the largest Yoruba diaspora organization seeking the Yoruba Nation self-determination agenda. And with this, I have the conviction that we will definitely achieve this lofty dream,” the statement quoted Gani Adams to have said.
On his part, one of the guest lecturers, Prof. Ayodeji Agbonjinmi from the Faculty of Law, Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, added that the Yoruba race had in Nigeria’s history became the victims of political instability in Nigeria.
The guest lecturer cited the past history and previous experiences of the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, and the late MKO Abiola who was elected but never ruled in the country.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the latest development is coming barely a few days after the operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) raided the Ibadan residence of Yoruba rights activists, Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho, and arrested some of his aides.
The DSS had since declared Sunday Igboho “wanted”, while over 40 suspected agitators were also arrested during a Yoruba Nation rally in Lagos last Saturday.
