EKO HOT BLOG gathered that reports have claimed that Nyesom Wike may emerge as the running mate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
Sources have informed The Press that Atiku has offered the vice presidency position to the Rivers state governor.
The source claimed that Atiku would have announced Wike as his running mate on Wednesday but some governors were against the idea.
However, three governors, Samuel Ortom (Benue), Seyi Makinde (Oyo) and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu) reportedly visited Atiku in his residence in Abuja on Wednesday and gave him details on the effort made to bring other governors to Wike’s side.
The former vice president also confirmed the governors visit in a tweet.
The tweet read: “Governors Nyesom Wike, @seyiamakinde, Samuel Ortom, and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi came calling on a courtesy visit before my meeting with the @OfficialPDPNig Governors Forum.
“Slowly but surely, the seeds of unity are being planted in our party.”
