Wike Commiserates With Bukola Saraki Over Mother’s Death
Minister Nyesom Wike extends condolences to former Senate President Bukola Saraki on the passing of his mother, Florence Morenike Saraki, who died at 89.
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, on Friday, extended his condolences to former Senate President Bukola Saraki over the passing of his mother, Florence Morenike Saraki.
Florence Morenike Saraki passed away on June 18, 2024, at the age of 89.

Saraki confirmed his mother’s death in a statement via his X handle, noting that funeral details would be shared in due course. He wrote, “With profound sadness and total submission to the will of Almighty God, I announce the passing of my beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and matriarch, Chief Mrs. Florence Morenike Saraki, who peacefully transitioned today, Tuesday, June 18, 2024.”
“Details regarding funeral arrangements will be shared in due course. We appreciate your love, prayers, and support as we mourn Mama’s passing.”
Wike, who spoke when he paid a condolence visit to the residence of the former Senate President in Abuja on Friday, said, “As a believer of God, we all know that there will be a day that we will all leave. She has come, she has played her role, she has left and I know she will be with the Almighty God.
“Our prayer is that God should fortify you and your siblings and the entire family, give you that courage to live and go ahead with doing things.”
