EKO HOT BLOG reports that Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State and a presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 election has said he will not be stepping down for anybody.

In an interview with BBC News Pidgin published on Friday, Wike stated that the PDP constitution talked about rotation, and not consensus.

“Why will I step down for anybody? If there would be consensus, it must be fair; there must be equity.
“In our constitution in the PDP, Section 7, sub-section 3C, laid emphasis on rotation,” Wike said.

Earlier, Wike asked the PDP to support his ambition to run for the office of the president in the 2023 general election.

He reminded the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) of his support for some of its members during the last national convention.
