Wilfred Ndidi Blasts DSTV For Using His Images For Advertisement Without His Consent
Popular Nigerian footballer and midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi has heavily criticized cable network owners, DStv for using his image to run their advertisement without obtaining consent from him.
DSTV is a South African owned cable television network, which owns the rights to show the premier league and a host of other football matches in Nigeria and Africa as a whole.
Wilfred Ndidi on the other hand is a Nigerian footballer who plays in the midfield position for popular English football club, Leicester Football club. He has become a vital part of Brendan Roger’s team.
In an incident which may cause a lot of legal tussle between the two parties, Wilfred Ndidi called DSTV out for using his images on billboards to promote their new DSTV package and dish.
According to Wilfred Ndidi, who made his grievances known on his Twitter handle, a corporate company like DStv is using his images for Nationwide promotion without his permission.
In the tweet he said “…see Corporate company in Nigeria using my image, without my permission, for massive nationwide promotion. DSTV for that matter.” He added that he would get upset.
Reacting to the tweet, most Nigerians have advised him to take the matter up and sue DStv for the perceived infringement as according to them, DStv are using his images free of charge to make more money from Nigerians, EKO HOT BLOG gathered.
