The gaffer made this known prior to Leicester’s semifinal first leg Carabao tie against Aston Villa at the King Power stadium. Ndidi was missing from the team sheet and the former Liverpool boss gave an update on his omission.
Brendan Rodgers said : “Wilf took a knock in training yesterday, which unfortunately means he might need a slight operation tomorrow,”
“That’ll put him out for a few weeks, but it’s not overly serious, so hopefully, going into February, he’ll be fit and ready to go again.”
Although Rodgers did not specify the exact injury suffered by Ndidi, the Nigerian will likely sit out five Leicester games including their semi-final second leg at Villa on January 28.
