EKO HOT BLOG reports that Senegal Football Association (FA) president, Austine Senghor says Aliou Cisse and his team must win the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2021 and anything less is a big failure.
Cisse has made it to another final after the heartbreak of 2019 defeat to Algeria. The Teranga Lions defeated Burkina Faso 3-1 on Wednesday night through goals from Abdou Diallo, Bamba Dieng and Liverpool star, Sadio Mane.

Cisse’s team had two penalties awarded in the first half only for the Ethiopian referee, Bamlak Tessema, to change his mind both times following a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) review.
However, they went ahead just after the midway point in the second period when Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) defender Diallo popped up in the box to produce a striker’s finish.
The second arrived on 76 minutes as Mane provided a superb assist for Dieng to score, and Mane completed the win late on after Blati Toure had pulled a goal back.
Africa’s top-ranked national team, Senegal will find out their opponents in Sunday’s final on Thursday, when hosts Cameroon take on Egypt in the second semi.
AfroSportTV quotes Senegal FA boss, Senghor as saying it is a big chance for coach Cisse and Senegal to make history.
Senegal is the team with the highest FIFA ranking left in the AFCON and coach Cisse admits it is about time his team brought home some silverware.
