Ekohotblog reports that Nigeria’s iconic Afrobeats superstar, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun popularly known as Wizkid has won the award for Best African Act at MTV Europe Music Awards.

This comes as another major recognition for the multiple award-winning Nigerian who is putting Afrobeats at the global trend.

He beat the likes of Tems, Diamond Platnumz, Amaarae, and Focalistic in the tightly-contested category to get the award.
